Description

RSD 2026 Special Edition on Deep Blue color vinyl. An instrumental guitar album by Masayoshi Takanaka, released in 1978 by Victor. It is part of the "PROFESSIONAL HIGH-TECHNIQUE SERIES" for instrumental instruction, following Tsugutoshi Goto's "On Bass" and Hiro Tsunoda's "On Drums." Musicians such as Yukihiro Takahashi (Dr), Robert Brill (Dr), Haruomi Hosono (B), Getao Takahashi (B), Pecker (Per), and Shigeo Miyata Hamaguchi (Per) participated. The first track, "Breezin'," originally by Bobby Womack, became a global hit on streaming platforms. Rare tracks like the original "Rainbow," which is only available on this album, and an alternate version of The Sadistics' "Blue Curacao" are included. The album also features well-executed covers of iconic songs by Billy Joel, Perez Prado, Santana, Earth, Wind & Fire, and Boz Scaggs, making it a must-have for fusion/rock fans.
