Thank you for supporting indie record stores. You rock!

Return Policy

This policy applies to online returns only. See store for local policy.

I just don't want it anymore.

Unopened new products, can be returned within 10 days of receipt, if returned in the condition they were sold, using a trackable delivery service and packaged securely (ideally in our original packaging). Note: We do not allow returns of Record Store Day event product. You will be reponsible for any return shipping costs and refunds will be for the product cost only, less the amount of payment processing fees we incurred (usually 3-4%).

I'd like to exchange it for something else.

It's easiest to follow the steps above and, after the return, just place a new order for the product you want.

Hey, AFK. You goofed!

If the return is the result of an error we made, we will email you a pre-paid shipping label, which you can print and affix to the package. (Label must be tendered to USPS within 10 days or it will become void) Upon receipt, we will refund you for the original cost of your outbound shipping and the product cost. Refunds typically take 3-5 business days from receipt.

It's Defective.*

If a product is opened and defective it can be returned within 10 days of receipt, if returned in the condition it was sold, using a trackable delivery service and packaged securely (ideally in our original packaging). We will email you a pre-paid shipping label, which you can print and affix to the package. (Label must be tendered to USPS within 10 days or it will become void) Upon receipt of the product (or after we receive a replacement from the vendor) we will send you a replacement.

*So what does "defective" mean?

Confusingly different things to different people. :) The physically manufactured nature of vinyl means that each record is a little different and most of them have anamolies of some sort. Different pressing plants have differing levels of quality control, differing cleaning processes and staff at differing levels of exhaustion. (Given the popularity of vinyl they're ALL on the exhaustion spectrum) So that means you're gonna hear a pop or click sometimes, even on a brand new record. Sometimes that can be cleaned up with a bit of vinyl cleaner and a microfiber cloth, sometimes not. That doesn't make it defective (to us anyway). That makes it vinyl. Embrace it. Revel in it. :)

What we mean by "defective" is something that limits your ability to play the record (that isn't a cheap suitcase or all-in-one turntable). If there's a chunk out of the record, that's defective. If the label was glued over a track, that's defective. If there's a blob of cooled vinyl on the record that causes the stylus to jump off the platter, that's defective. If the spindle hole is in the wrong place, that's defective. If there's a warp that causes sound distortion, that's defective. Unless you're using an aforementioned cheap suitcase or all-in-one turntable in which case you should take it to your nearest record store, or friend with an Audio Technica, and test it there first. Finally, if you're hearing Barry White instead of Al Green... hit the 45 toggle. :)

So. Slightly off-center labels: not defective. Labels with spindle punch marks: not defective. Bubbly labels: not defective. A pop or click: not defective. Lightly bowed and not affecting play: not defective. Creased inserts or inners with split seams: not defective. Coloration issues that don't affect play: not defective. "The only record that skips on my turntable": not defective (again unless you've tested it on another higher quality turntable). "This press doesn't sound quite as good as I expected": truly a bummer, but not defective.

In the "not defective" categories above we still might be able to work with you, but as we're unable to return it to the vendor for cosmetic or esoteric reasons, you'll have to pay for return shipping, and we'll only be able to refund you for the original product cost, less a 25% restocking fee. We typically sell most used vinyl in store, at 25% off retail, after discounts, so the restocking fee just goes to cover that likelihood.

How do I request a return?

Just fill out our contact form and choose "Request a Return" and we'll get back with you within one business day.
