To celebrate 30 years of Blur’s The Great Escape, the band will be releasing a 30th Anniversary edition on 2xLP and digitally, which includes a bonus disc of rare b-sides which have never been released on vinyl before.
Originally released on 11th September 1995, this iconic album captured the spirit of Britpop at its peak and marked a defining moment in the band’s career.
The Great Escape was the follow-up to blur's global breakthrough album Parklife and it charted at no. 1 selling over 125,000 copies in its first week, going on to achieve Triple Platinum status in the UK (900k+ sales to date).
Featuring the hit singles, Country House (#1), The Universal (#5), Stereotypes (#7) and Charmless Man (#5). The singles have combined UK sales of over 1.8m, with over 60m YouTube views and combined global streams of 335m+
It defined mid-’90s Britain, both the optimism and the underlying malaise and ultimately became the record that placed Blur at the heart of one of the most talked-about moments in music history.
