Description
(2-LP Set) Released in 2007, Jah Victory is a major album by Alpha Blondy that marks a return to the roots of roots reggae while affirming his spiritual and political commitment. Recorded between Abidjan, Paris, and Kingston-notably in Bob Marley's famous Tuff Gong studios-this project brings together the virtuosity of Jamaican musicians (including the legendary rhythm section Sly & Robbie) and the brassy energy of the Wailers. Musically, Jah Victory offers a rich, brassy sound, oscillating between traditional roots reggae, African sounds, and light rock arrangements. It is an album that is both militant and unifying, tailor-made for the stage and carried by the unshakeable aura of the "Jagger of reggae."
Vinyl 2LP. Includes gatefold jacket.
